County unemployment for November down

November’s unemployment rate in St. Joseph County decreased by one-tenth of a percent from October.

Figures from the monthly labor-market analysis by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget show St. Joseph County’s unemployment rate fell from 4.7 percent in October to 4.6 percent in November. The county’s November rate from a year earlier was 3.5 percent.

Meanwhile, Cass County experienced an increase in its unemployment figures from October to November. Its October rate was 4.6 percent and rose to 4.7 percent a month later.

In addition, Branch County also experienced a small bump in its monthly rate. It was 4.2 percent in October and rose to 4.3 percent in November.

Michigan’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for November was 4.8 percent, up from 4.6 percent in October.
