The case of a Kalamazoo County man charged with driving on a suspended license and causing the death of a 10-year-old Amish boy is headed to trial.
St. Joseph County Prosecutor Deb Davis said Vicksburg resident Logan Keith Thomas has waived his preliminary hearing. As a result, the case will go to trial.
Thomas, 29, was driving west on Banker Street Dec. 2 in Sherman Township when his vehicle struck a bicycle ridden by Anthony Miller. Miller was pronounced dead at the scene.
Thomas is charged with operating a motor vehicle while license denied or revoked causing death, a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison. He is also charged with no proof of insurance.
He remains free on bond. No court dates have yet been set in St. Joseph County Circuit Court.
