Paul Deal, 52

Paul Eric Deal, age 52, of Sturgis, passed away Saturday morning, February 22, 2025, at his home.

He was born October 19, 1972, in Kendallville, Indiana, son of William Fred and Mary (Frain) Deal.

Paul resided in Sturgis for most of his life and was a graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1991.

On December 3, 2005, he married Norma Eyre in Sturgis.

Following his graduation from high school Paul went to work in the oil fields in northern Michigan. Returning to Sturgis he accepted a position at Harter Corporation in Middlebury, where he worked for before joining Morgan Olson in Sturgis where he was a group leader for several years.

He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and hunting.

Paul is survived by his loving wife Norma; children: Natasha Deal and Nathan (Abigail Bustos) McCann; mother: Mary Deal; brother: Earl Deal; mother in-law: Lottie Swartzentruber; sisters-in-law: Denise (Travis Henline) Eyre, Tonya Mathews and Debbie (Jay) McCann and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, brother: Eric Deal and sister-in-law: Phyllis Setterblad.

In honoring Paul’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, March 16th at 1:00 at New Beginnings Church in Sturgis. The Rev. Randy Evans will officiate.

The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
