Christopher Todd Moreland, age 54, of Mendon, died Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo following a one-month illness. He was born in Paw Paw on April 5, 1970, the son of Marcell and Eunice (Cameron) Moreland and was a lifetime resident of southwest Michigan. Chris graduated from Constantine High School where he excelled in the wrestling program and set several records. He enjoyed hunting, playing his guitar, and video games. He was an avid reader, and looked forward to the weekly Poker-Parties with family and friends. Chris just recently took a job at Elmet Technologies in Coldwater and had previously been employed at Armstrong International in Three Rivers.
Chris is survived by a daughter, Stephany DeCamp; a step-son, Josh Kennedy; sister, Bobbie (Seth) Newberry; two brothers, Gene (Mary) Moreland and Roland Moreland; and by many nieces and nephews, including Kim and Mike Smith who shared their home with him in Mendon. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Wanda Evans; and by three brothers, David, Michael, and Gary Moreland.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Monday. February 24, 2025 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Funeral services will be at 11 am Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at the funeral home with Dan Lane officiating. Cremation will follow services and interment will take place later in Mendon Cemetery.
