Elwood Rink, 82

Elwood L. Rink, age 82, of White Pigeon, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born February 8, 1943 in Goshen, a son of Delbert and Lou Vena (Collinsworth) Rink. Elwood attended Constantine High School.  On March 10, 1962, he married Phyllis E. Jackson in Factoryville, MI.

Elwood worked at several RV manufacturers, and in the machine shop at E L Nickell  in Constantine. Most recently he worked as custodian/maintenance for Constantine Public Schools, retiring after 20 years in 2005. Elwood enjoyed playing his guitar and woodworking, especially making furniture for family and friends. He attended Union Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife Phyllis Rink, White Pigeon; children Valerie (William) Puckett, White Pigeon, Cheryl Rink-Ethel, Sturgis, Eric (Jessica) Rink, Constantine, Matthew (Rebecca Crothers) Rink, Sturgis; grandchildren Nicholas Rink, Mack Rink, Amanda (Bobby) Schwartz, Jeremiah (Mya) Ethell, Stacey (Herschell) Hamilton, Heather Carey; great grandchildren Eugena, Cherokee, Cameron, Nova, Jolene, Ila, Jeremiah II; and great great granddaughter Lavina; sister Carol Neubert;  sister-in-law Jeanie Rink, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Larry Rink, sister Linda Swinehart, grandson Cameron Herman, and brother-in-law Freddie Neubert.

Relatives and friends will be received Friday, February 28, 2025 from 12 to 2 PM at Eley Funeral Home In Constantine, where religious services will follow at 2:00.  Pastor Brian Taylor of Union Baptist Church will be officiating.   1. I remember Elwood as a kind man who would always lend a hand when needed. It was always good to see him at Riverside and to share a laugh.
