She was born November 23, 194, in Sturgis, daughter of the late Andrew and Winola (Beckwith) Mustone.

Judy was a lifelong Sturgis resident and graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1960 where she was crowned Homecoming Queen her senior year and in 1961, she was crowned the first Miss Sturgis.

On September 19, 1964, she married the love of her life, David DeHaven at the First United Methodist Church in Sturgis.

Judy enjoyed a 45-year career as a hairdresser, owning and operating Judy’s Beauty Salon Boutique in downtown Sturgis for 38 years, retiring in 2005.

Judy was a gifted golfer. A few of her many accomplishments would include multiple local and regional tournament wins, several club championships at the former Oak Hills Golf Course in Middlebury, and Cedar Lake Golf Course in Howe. She was the club record holder at several area golf courses including Cedar Lake and Oak Hills. Her record at Oak Hills will forever stand as unfortunately the course is no longer operating. Judy recorded 4 holes in one. Her favorite hole in one came while playing in Hawaii. She played golf as far south as Hawaii and as far north as Scotland where she was able to live her dream of playing St. Andrews Old Course.

Judy had another love and that was fishing. Especially bass fishing with Dave. Judy and Dave were blessed with many years of their annual fishing trip to Watersmeet in the upper peninsula of Michigan. They also fished local bass tournaments as a team and enjoyed fishing trips to Ontario, Canada and Punta Gorda, Florida.

Judy had a large collection of angels and golf books, and enjoyed puzzles and word search puzzles.
