Martin D. Gage, age 68, of Sturgis, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, February 13, 2025.
Martin was born on February 3, 1957, in Sturgis, a son to the late Donald and Lois (Lancaster) Gage. Martin was a graduate of Sturgis High school with the class of 1975. Martin lived in the Colon and Sturgis areas most of his life with a short stint in Coldwater as well. He had worked for Parlins Home Furnishings, Abbott Labs for 25 years, and most recently at Arnold Auto Parts in Coldwater. Martin loved to ride his Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He had a huge heart and was very involved in caring for the homeless of Coldwater. Martin never met a stranger and always had something to chat about. He was a very proud and involved member of the Branch County Republican Party.
Surviving Martin are his sisters: Rhonda Gage of Sturgis, Laura (Ray) Ecker of Newaygo, and Autumn (Johnny) Mullins of LaGrange, significant other Candace M. Longfellow (Abbs) of Sturgis, nephew: Nathan (Heather) Ecker and several great nieces, a great nephew, and his best buddy Minder the dog.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Lois Gage.
Following in Martin’s wish’s cremation has taken place. There are no services planned at this time.
