Officials from the agency formerly known as Community Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services of St. Joseph County are moving forward with the idea of a potential addition to their Centreville-based office.
Now called Pivotal, the agency is contemplating additional building space at its current site or potentially securing an existing building larger than its current facility.
CEO Cameron Bullock said the board last month voted to secure no-obligation quotes for a building addition. The possible add-on would be at the east side of the building.
However, Bullock said he is keeping his eyes open for an already existing building to possibly house Pivotal. One possibility he said is the former Nazarene Church on Fawn River Road in Fawn River Township.
The 77,000-square-foot former church would nearly triple the amount of space the current location offers. Bullock, though, conceded, the far-flung location in Fawn River Township would be a legitimate concern for its staff and clients.
Bullock said yet another option is the potential purchase of land in Centreville and building new.
