Betty Arlene (Carter) Livingston, age 95, of Three Rivers, was called to heaven in the evening hours of Wednesday, March 12, 2025 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born on July 20, 1929 in Jackson, Michigan to John Russell and Lucina Carter.
Betty is survived by three daughters, Sandra Smous of Mishawaka, Sherry Natharius of Three Rivers, and Susan (Eric) Meyer of Mendon; three grandchildren, Jeremy Prowett of Three Rivers, Dustin Smous of Mishawaka, and Jessica Warner (Justin Hale) of Kalamazoo; eight great-grandchildren, Jacob Prowett, Lexis Hale, Jlyn Hale, Mason Hale, Sophia Prowett, Avery Mangum, Keona Warner, and Aurora Warner and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her high school sweetheart and husband of 65 years, Lyle Dean Livingston; her son, Joe Livingston; three grandchildren, Aron Smous, Jason Smous, and Kristopher Warner; a great-grandchild, Alyvya Hale; two sons-in-law, (Mason) Bruce Meyer and Donald Natharius; brother, Robert (Beverly) Tyler.
Betty worked in banking before finding her niche as a bookkeeper for Lyle’s business, “Lyle’s TV and Appliance” on North Main Street in Three Rivers.
She and her family enjoyed spending many summers at their cottage on Clear Lake, Three Rivers where they enjoyed swimming, water skiing, volleyball, and fishing contests.
The family will celebrate a private memorial at a later date.
Donations in Betty’s memory may be directed to Centrica Care Hospice or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at Hohner Funeral Home.
