Brian G. Ryder, age 60, of Vicksburg, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, February 28, 2025. He was born on March 2, 1964 in Three Rivers, the son of Christina Kelley. Brian was a proud graduate of Vicksburg High School’s Class of 1982. He was widely known for his incredible cooking skills, especially his famous stuffing and homemade Chex Mix—both of which will be deeply missed at family gatherings. He had a love for classic movies and music, appreciating the timeless things in life. Above all, Brian was a devoted caretaker to his mother, a beloved father, a cherished brother, an entertaining uncle, and a proud Papa. He gave the best hugs, and his warmth and kindness were unmatched—unless, of course, you dared to talk loudly in the background while he was ordering a pizza. Brian was a simple man who lived a simple life: enjoy the classics, savor a good home-cooked meal, and love your family. His presence will be deeply missed, but his love, laughter, and legendary recipes will never be forgotten.
Brian is survived by his mother Christina Kelley; daughter Angela Reese; brother Ken Owen; sister-in-law Bonnie Ryder; grandchildren Halie, Hannah, Hayden; niece Alyssa (Andrew); nephews Nate, Drew, and Mike. He was preceded in death by his step-father Jack Kelley and his brother Kirk Ryder.
Visitation for Brian will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 10am until 11am at St. Martin Catholic Church (5855 E W Ave, Vicksburg, MI 49097) with a mass beginning at 11:00 with Msgr. Thomas Martin officiating. Following mass, burial will take place at Vicksburg Cemetery. It is suggested that donations in memory of Brian be directed to St. Martin Catholic Church.
