An athletic director from a Branch County High School will receive a state honor later this week.
Coldwater Athletic Director Todd Farmer was named Region VII athletic director of the year for this school year. The honor was bestowed by Michigan Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association.
Farmer will receive his award at the MIAAA mid-winter conference Saturday in Traverse City.
Charlene Fincham, diagnostic teacher consultant with Branch Intermediate School District, said she and Farmer partnered to start a Unified Sports Program at Coldwater High School.
Karen Anderson, Jackson Area Officials Association Volleyball Coordinator and Assigner, said Farmer has more than just students in mind. She said he genuinely cares for the officials, is always present and making sure everything runs smoothly.
