Donald Scott Sturwold, age 73, of Burr Oak, passed away Tuesday morning, March 4, 2025, at Birch Meadows Senior Care in Three Rivers.
He was born on January 20, 1952, in Chicago, son of the late Jerry and Carolyn (Guthous) Sturwold.
Don resided in Burr Oak for the past 35 years coming from Chicago.
On March 4, 1978, he married Susan Ann Rasine in Des Plaines, Illinois.
Most of Don’s working life was as an area sales representative. His career began in the family business of Sturwold Equipment, Inc., he later accepted a position with Wacker Equipment. He retired from American Axle in Three Rivers. Following his retirement, he took on a part time position with Menards.
He was a member of the Burr Oak United Methodist Church.
Don enjoyed fishing, and loved the game of golf, and was a member of St. Joe Valley Golf Course.
He is survived by his wife: Susan; children: Heather Sturwold of Centreville, Daniel (Rebecca) Sturwold of Sturgis, Steven (Nichole) Sturwold of Centreville and Alex (Lara) Weniger of Sturgis; grandchildren: Ana, Georgia, Cadence, Johnathan, Isabell, Emily and Bentley; brothers: Greg (Anne) Sturwold of Mississippi and Gary (Renee) Sturwold of California; sister: Christy (Rolf) Fuchs of Florida and several nieces and nephews.
In honoring Donald’s wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating the life of Donald Scott Sturwold will be held at 12:00 Saturday, March 22nd at the Burr Oak United Methodist Church in Burr Oak. The Rev. Carl Litchfield will officiate.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
