Event focusing on understanding poverty planned

In collaboration with Think Tank Inc. and the Sturgis Rotary Club, HOPE UNITED is hosting its annual COPE event.

COPE is an acronym for Cost of Poverty Experience. The event takes place noon to 3 p.m. March 25 at Riverside Church in Three Rivers.

The COPE event was developed to provide individuals with a deeper understanding of the realities of poverty in America and in the healthcare field. Its goal is to provide communities with a better approach to assisting those in need, connecting people with appropriate resources for their unique situation and ultimately to provide attendees with a better understanding of how poverty is often a cycle that requires community collaboration to overcome.

The event is free and lunch will be provided for participants. Registration is required, however.
