Fatal car-versus-pedestrian crash in Sturgis

A Sturgis man died after being struck by a car earlier this week in the area of South Centerville Road and Forest Avenue.

Sturgis Department of Public Safety officials said the agency was called around 9 p.m. Monday in response to a car-versus-pedestrian crash.

The victim, whose age and identity were not released in a department media release, was pronounced dead at Sturgis Hospital.

Investigators said alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
