Joshua Klein, 16

Joshua Edward “Josh” Klein, age 16, of Mendon passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025. He was born on November 5, 2008 in Kalamazoo, the son of Edward and Amanda (Kucel) Klein and been a lifetime resident of Mendon. He was baptized in the Catholic Church and for several years was an Altar Server. Josh was about to complete the eleventh grade and was involved in numerous activities. He was initially a member of the Leonidas Do-Best 4-H club, and later the Mendon Green Clovers. He looked forward to spending Fair Week camping at the St. Joseph County Fairgrounds where he earned ribbons in presenting rabbits, goats, and tin-punch art. Josh loved boating and fishing on Portage Lake, Fisher Lake, and Lake Templene. Lately he developed an interest in electronics, writing code and assembly of gadgets. He was especially proud of the fact that he learned to drive tractors for the Gentz family at Goldenview Farms.

Joshua leaves to mourn his parents, Edward and Amanda Klein; his five younger siblings, Rebekah, Valerie, Luke, Suzanne, and Martina; maternal grandparents, Mark and Darlene Kucel; paternal grandparents, Gary and Sandy Klein; and by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Judith in 2009.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 7 pm Wednesday at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon and where the Rosary will be recited at 7 pm with Deacon Kurt Lucas. The funeral mass will be at 11 am Thursday, March 2025 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Mendon with Monsignor Thomas Martin officiating. Interment will be at St. Edward Catholic Cemetery followed by a gathering in the social room of the church. Memorial contributions will be directed to the family.
