Lou Ann Brown, 67

Lou Ann Brown, age 67, of Sturgis, passed away Thursday morning, March 27, 2025 at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo.

She was born May 1, 1957 in Three Rivers, daughter of the late Walter and Shirley (Carlin) Hecht.

Lou Ann resided in Sturgis since 1980 coming from Centreville, where she was a graduate of Centreville High School with the class of 1975.

On April 15, 2006, she married Randy Lee Brown at Sturgis Missionary Church.

Lou Ann was a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse for 30 years. She had been employed at Sturgis Hospital, Heartland Health Care Center in Three Rivers, Miller’s Merry Manor in LaGrange, and the Tri-County Health Department.

In her younger years she was a member of the 4-H Dog Club. She enjoyed all kinds of crafts and had an appreciation for animals. Lou Ann loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband: Randy Lee; daughter: Lindsay (Brian) Lash of Colon; son: Scott (Kelly Storch) Post of Sturgis; grandchildren: Andrew Lash, David Lash and Rachel Lash; siblings: Jeff (Dawn) Hecht of Centreville, Joy (Roger) Sommers of Ceresco, and Hugh (Ronni) Ettline of Auburn; nieces and nephews: Amanda Shirey, Jace Fuller, Ashlynn Shirey, Mason Shirey, Erin Ettline, Kenneth McGinnis, Myka Brown, Sarah Brown, Allen Brown and Mykala Steele; brother-in-law: Richard E. (Lynn) Brown, Jr. of Constantine.

She was preceded in death by her parents; father and mother in-law: Richard E. and Betty A. Brown, Sr.; sister-in-law: Norma Brown and nephew: Kevin Brown.

In honoring Lou Ann’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 2nd at Sturgis Missionary Church, 67087 M-66 in Sturgis. A memorial service celebrating the life of Lou Ann Brown will immediately follow the visitation at the church. Pastors Joshua Brueck and Skip Bowersox will officiate. Burial of the remains will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Three Rivers.

The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
