Lucille Chitwood, 90

Vesta Lucille Chitwood, age 90, entered the heavenly gates on Saturday, March 29, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Ellington, Missouri on February 6, 1935 the daughter of Huda and Amy (Madden) Chitwood. She was the middle child in a family of nine. Lucille married T.L. Blackmon of Courtland, Alabama; they were later divorced. She was a simple woman who enjoyed the simple things in life; enjoying a cup of coffee while playing board games and cards with her family and friends, loving everyone to the best of her ability, and being “the best social butterfly” around, and being a faithful follower of God. Lucille loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was often found attached at the hip with her amazing sister, Hazel.

She was a wonderful mother of six children; Bill (Helen) Blackmon, Tereasa (Jim) Bellew, Thomas (Anjo) Chitwood, Tammy (Mike) Pebler, Angie Chitwood, Linda Chitwood; Billy Shirk; all of the Three Rivers area. Lucille is also survived by twelve grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; and one sister; Imogene Kurtz. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings.

Visitation for Lucille will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home from 11am until 1pm, with funeral services beginning at 1:00 with Pastor Jason Proffitt officiating.
