Margaret M. Hart, age 88, of Sturgis, passed away early Saturday morning, March 22, 2025, at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis.
She was born August 25, 1936, in Vicksburg, daughter of the late Maurice M. and Lucille (Phelps) Masten.
Marge resided in Sturgis since 1951. On September 1, 1954, she married Daniel Franklin Hart in Vicksburg. He preceded her in death on January 28, 2014.
Marge cleaned homes on Klinger Lake and was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker.
She was a member of First Church of God, now known as Sturgis Foursquare Church or His House Church and enjoyed playing cards, singing, reading books and poetry, and sharing a meal with family and friends at different restaurants.
Marge is survived by her daughters: Brenda Lynn (David) Thoms and Karen Getzloff both of Sturgis; grandchildren: Danelle (Jonathon) Russ of Sturgis, Jessica (Davis) Bruderick of Sturgis, Jon (Zoey) Thoms of Lawton, Jeff Thoms of Sturgis, Jeremiah Hart of Indiana, Jamie Marie Cosmerick of Utah and Chad (Angela) Weinberg of Indiana; great grandchildren: Rachel Russ, Matthew Russ, Kylie Bruderick, Ethan Weinberg, Korbin Weinberg, Charity Weinberg, Bradley Bruderick, Natalie Bruderick, Mclaine Thoms, Ezra Thoms, Addison Cosmerick and the Weinberg great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Maurice M. and Lucille Masten and Forest “Toss” Smitley; sons: Dennis Hart and Larry Hart; daughter: Linda Bellaire and an infant sister.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 28th at Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St. in Sturgis. Private interment will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
