Michigan’s unemployment rate rose from January to February.
According to Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget, the state’s unemployment rate was 5.3 percent in January and increased by one-tenth of a percent to 5.4 percent in February.
The agency said overall employment in Michigan grew by 2,000 jobs while unemployment increased by 6,000 jobs in February.
Agency officials said fields with the greatest increase of jobs over the period were manufacturing and business services.
