St. Joseph County Conservation District has announced dates and locations of its 2025 River Cleanup schedule.
The agency’s 15th summer cleanup features four sessions.
The first is on a Friday. It will be June 27 on the Prairie River from Centreville Canoe Park to Hoshel Canoe Park in Lockport Township. The three-and-a-half-mile route is one of the most popular water trails in the county.
Next, Nottawa Creek and St. Joseph River will be the focus of a cleanup July 26. It will start at Rawson’s King Mill County Park in Leonidas Township and conclude at M-66.
On Wednesday, Aug. 20, agency officials and volunteers will tackle the Fawn River. The session begins at Fawn River Kayak Guide and Rental and follow a 4.2-mile route to Big Hill Road in Fawn River Township.
The 2025 season will conclude on a Friday. On Sept. 26, crews will work the Portage River. The 4.7-mile cleanup will start at South Fisher Lake Road in Lockport Township and end at Conservation Park in Three Rivers.
Details related to volunteer opportunities will be released as the first event nears.
