State Rep. Matt Hall issued a media release Tuesday, highlighting details of a Government Shutdown Prevention Plan.
Hall, who oversees portions of Allegan and Kalamazoo counties – including the village of Vicksburg – said elected officials should work together to guarantee basic funding for critical services and take the threat of a potential government shutdown off the table.
In the past week, Hall led passage of a plan that secures funding for Michigan’s core services. They include:
Schools staying open and safe. Hall said accomplishments include the highest per-pupil foundation allowance in history, plus full funding for school safety, mental health, special education and teacher retirement.
Public safety being fully funded.
Veterans and national guard being protected, Hall said.
