Tommy Ferguson, age 69, died peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2025 at MediLodge Care Facility in Portage. Tommy received excellent care at MediLodge while recovering from a bike accident and related surgeries.
Tommy was born in Kings Mountain, North Carolina on September 16, 1955 to Lloyd and Opal (Heaton) Ferguson. He was the youngest of six children. Tommy and his family moved to Mendon in the summer of 1960. He attended grade school in Leonidas and completed high school in Mendon, graduating with the class of 1973.
Tommy worked at several plastic molding and fabrication companies in the area. Most of his work career was at Crocker Limited where he was maintenance supervisor. He was talented in mechanical and electrical maintenance. Tommy was very willing to help family and friends fix a car, a bike, or troubleshoot electrical issues in their home. He enjoyed his family, fast cars, and motorcycles.
Tommy and Dena Krontz were married in 1974. They have two children, Ryan (Tiffany) and Jennifer Ferguson. He is survived by his children, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and his siblings, Joan Wilcox, Betty (Joe) Taylor and Bill (Pam) Ferguson and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Opal and Lloyd Ferguson, two brothers, Dorsey and David.
In keeping with Tommy’s wishes, cremation is being conducted. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Visitation will start at 10 am with services beginning at 11:00, also at Eickhoff Funeral Home. Rev. Clint Zehr will officiate. Please join the family for lunch after the service at Mendon United Methodist Church. Following the luncheon burial will be at Moorepark Cemetery.
