Constantine residents wishing to receive a copy of the village newsletter through the mail will need to make a request to municipal staff.
Constantine officials recently announced that bulk mailing of the village’s monthly newsletter will discontinue, though an exception will be made based on citizen request. The time and expense involved printing more than 900 copies of the newsletter was a factor in the decision.
The newsletters were printed in-house and mailed at a bulk rate.
Village officials said about 50 copies will be printed from now on. The monthly newsletter will be posted online through the village’s web page.
So much for the law of a printed copy of meeting minutes in a printed publication of general circulation and posting if said minutes in 2 or more readily accessible public locations within the municipality. This new way means it’s easier to identify and track an troublemaker or malcontent.
It works in tandem with the appointed clerk system where the elected clerk answered to the state law and constituents, is now just another office employee answerable to the village manager and dependent on the manager/council for their salary, not the people they used to serve.
But as long it’s not guns, weed, booze, or tower service, wth! Viva democracy!
Intelligence nor education is this county’s forte. If it’s not on tiktok or in comic book form, no one is interested.
