Donations from 5k will go to Keystone Place

An Easter-themed fundraiser over the weekend to benefit a St. Joseph County emergency housing facility was deemed a success by its organizers.

Superintendent Chad Brady said the inaugural Easter Egg Hunt 5K run/walk, organized by the Centreville High School National Honor Society, drew nearly 150 participants – 50 more than the goal of 100.

The route covered areas around the county fairgrounds, throughout the village of Centreville and school grounds.

All proceeds from the $10-per-adult and $5-per student event will be donated to Keystone Place.
