Gregory Wright, 67

Gregory S. Wright, age 67, of Sturgis, passed away Monday evening, April 14, 2025, at Kairos Dwelling in Kalamazoo.

He was born February 27, 1958, in Rochester, New York, son of the late David and Joanne (MacKenzie) Wright.

Greg resided in Sturgis since 1992. In November of 1992 he married Jean Marie Kelly in Three Rivers.

He retired from the White Pigeon Paper Mill following 22 years of dedicated employment.

Greg was proud to have served his country for eight years of active duty in the U.S. Navy earning the rank of Engineman Petty Officer Third Class. He also served an additional six years in the U.S. Navy Reserves.

He enjoyed gardening, painting, arts and crafts, and loved spending time with his family. One of Greg’s favorite sayings was “Spread the Joy”.

He is survived by daughter: Dawn (Brian) Quirin; Son in Law: Jeff Bell grandchildren: Robert (Gabrielle) Blair, Jr., Neil Blair, Cory Blair, Tyler (Erica) Dearduff, Michal (Olivia) Kemp, Chantelle (Matthew) Rankin, Matthew (Jennifer) Quirin, Logan (Kayla) Quirin, Jennifer (Ken) Bickle and Jessica (Mikeal) Wood; great grandchildren: Andrew Blair, Thea Kemp, Braxton Kemp, Korra McGowan, Colton Quirin, Liam Quirin, Willow Quirin, Owen Bickle, Oliver Bickle and expecting two more great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter: Catherine Marie Bell.

In honoring Greg’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Private family services will take place at a later date.

The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
