Bronson officials have issued a statement related to the municipality’s upcoming hydrant flushing event.
City manager Brandon Mersman said the annual practice is performed to keep up with routine water-main cleaning. The work is expected to start shortly after midnight in the early-morning hours of April 28 in the eastern portion of the city.
After that, shortly after midnight April 29, flushing will take place on the western portion of the city. If additional time is needed, flushing will continue shortly after midnight April 30.
Mersman said water in the areas of flushing may temporarily have a rusty appearance, as flushing can disturb iron sediment in water pipes. Mersman suggests running cold water at the tap closest to your water meter if this occurs.
