Liberty Bell award recipients named

St. Joseph County Bar Association has announced recipients of its annual “Liberty Bell” award.

The Centreville-based association has selected Three Rivers-based WLKM radio, as well as WBET radio of Sturgis, to receive the 2025 honor.

WLKM and WBET follow last year’s Liberty Bell Award winner, Tom Miles, executive director of Twin County Community Probation Center.

The Liberty Bell Award was created in 1985 and is given to a non-lawyer, individual, or organization which has made an outstanding contribution to the community in several areas.

A presentation will take place at 9 a.m. Thursday – recognized as National Law Day – in Judge Paul Stutesman’s courtroom. The ceremony will be presided by St. Joseph County Bar Association President Paul Gipson.
