Timothy Ernest Hahn, age 65, of Sturgis, passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning, April 24, 2025, at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo.
He was born on February 20, 1960, in Sturgis, son of the late Ernest C. and Sarah Elizabeth (Hildebrand) Hahn.
Tim was a lifelong Sturgis resident and graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1978.
On August 28, 1982, he married Julia Miller at the First United Methodist Church in Sturgis.
Nearly all his working life was in maintenance. For the past 7 years he had been employed by Carter & Associates in Burr Oak. Prior to joining the company, he worked at Black Gold Farms in Sturgis for two years, and spent 21 years at Parma Tube Corporation in Sturgis. From 1985 to 1997 he owned and operated Hahn Propeller in Sturgis.
Tim was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Burr Oak, longtime dedicated firefighter with Burr Oak Fire Department, and St. Joseph County Dive Rescue and Recovery team. He enjoyed kayaking, pontoon rides on the lake, and had a true passion for scuba diving and experienced incredible times diving all over the world.
He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 42 years: Julia; sisters: Elizabeth (Robert) Bailey of Sturgis and Linda Rheinheimer of New Castle, Indiana; brothers: James Hahn of Kentwood and Thomas (Mary) Hahn of Sturgis; sister-in-law: Theresa Outman of Sturgis; nieces and nephews: Charles Bailey, Mike (Brandi) Bailey, Matthew Bailey, Melissa (Travis) Clark, Stephanie (Greg) Knauf, Noah (Maria) Hahn and Amber Outman and many great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, May 2nd at Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Rd. in Sturgis. Funeral services celebrating the life of Timothy E. Hahn will begin at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 3rd at Trinity Lutheran Church, 406 S. Lakeview Ave. in Sturgis. The Rev. Kurt Kuhlmann of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Burr Oak will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
