TR man injured in crash

A Three Rivers man was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday in Calhoun County’s Burlington Township.

Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched shortly after 5:30 a.m. to an area on 11 Mile Road, near Q Drive South.

According to investigators, the 79-year-old man, who was not identified, was driving north on 11 Mile Road when he encountered a disabled semi blocking both lanes of 11 Mile Road. The victim was unable to stop in time and his vehicle struck the trailer of the stationary rig.

Emergency personnel had to extricate the driver, who was then taken to a local hospital.
