Centreville hires two teachers

Centreville Public Schools added two new staff members but accepted the retirement of another during the district’s board of education meeting Monday.

First, the board hired Ashley Bailey to teach third grade. The opening became available with the retirement of kindergarten teacher Betsy Breitenbach followed by internal shuffling. Bailey, a Saginaw Valley grad, has 15 years of teaching experience, most recently fifth grade at Hoppin Elementary in Three Rivers.

Next, Dylan Jergens was hired as an additional physical education/health teacher. His credentials include a degree from Central Michigan University.

With regret, the board accepted the retirement of third-grade teacher Linsey Wolff. A Centreville High School alumna, Wolff has taught in the district for 20 years.

Also, the board accepted the resignation of junior/senior high Spanish teacher Sara Gardner.
