A Colon Township man who St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department labeled dangerous and violent was arrested last week.
Sheriff Chad Spence said deputies were requested at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the area of Dallas and First streets in the village of Colon. The report to deputies indicated the suspect was making threats to residents in the area.
The county’s Special Response Team joined deputies in their effort to arrest the man. Spence said the agency was aware the man has a notable history of violence.
The suspect was charged with resisting/obstructing and witness intimidation. During the course of the arrest, a second person allegedly interfered with officers and attempted to disarm one of them.
That person was charged with resisting/obstructing, and attempting to disarm a law-enforcement officer.
