Southwest Michigan Land Conservancy is hosting four events later this month.
The first is coming up this weekend. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, agency officials are hosting a Kalamazoo River cleanup. The work will center on parks and waterways in the vicinity of Kalamazoo, Comstock and Parchment.
“Songbird Stroll,” an opportunity to listen for spring songbirds with expert guides, is 8:30 to 10 a.m. Sunday. The event takes place at the Black River Preserve in Van Buren County’s Geneva Township.
A lupine hike will allow participants to explore blooming lupine with native-plant experts, who will point out the role of lupine in local ecosystems. It takes place 5:30 to 7 p.m. May 20 at Chipman Preserve in Comstock Township.
Finally, “Wild Wanderers Walkabout” is 9 to 11 a.m. May 24 at Wolf Tree Nature Trails in Oshtemo Township. The nature walk is designed for families with kids.
More information about any of the events can be found on the agency’s website: swmlc.org.
