A Dowagiac man died after being struck by a car over the weekend in Cass County’s LaGrange Township.
Sheriff Clint Roach said deputies responded shortly after 4 a.m. Sunday to the 5700 block of Wilbur Hill Road in response to a car-versus-pedestrian crash.
Deputies said 60-year-old Dowagiac resident Johnny Moore was driving north and his vehicle struck Dalton Prentice, 30.
Authorities said Prentice was in the roadway and Moore was unable to avoid a collision. Prentice was declared deceased at the scene.
