A woman was arrested after troopers discovered more than 2,000 grams of heroin and fentanyl in her vehicle during a traffic stop last weekend in Branch County, according to Michigan State Police.
WOOD-TV said a traffic stop was made Saturday on Interstate 69 near State Road. Troopers clocked the driver’s car going 97 miles per hour in a 70 miles-per-hour zone.
As the driver did not have a valid driver’s license, troopers searched the vehicle and found more than 2,000 grams of heroin/fentanyl, estimated to be valued between $250,000 and $300,000, according to statistics from the Michigan High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas program.
Just two milligrams of fentanyl can be lethal, authorities said.
