Sturgis native ends Jeopardy run on second day

A St. Joseph County native saw his proverbial 15 minutes of fame come to an end Wednesday after bowing out on an episode of the TV game show, Jeopardy.

Tyler Griffith, a 2009 Sturgis High School graduate, won Tuesday’s episode, albeit with a total accumulation of just $799. On Wednesday, he returned in search of a second consecutive victory but was thwarted by his two opponents.

Griffith and both opponents correctly answered Wednesday’s “Final Jeopardy” question, but Griffith did not have nor wager enough money to overtake the eventual, new champion. He placed third in the three-person competition.

Griffith, a criminal forensic scientist, now lives in New Mexico.
