TR Community Schools – Enrollment decline

A near 20-percent decline in enrollment over the last 10 years was one of the key factors Three Rivers Community Schools officials say led to the restructuring of some elementary school placements for next school year.

According to the Three Rivers Commercial-News, that statistic was cited as part of a statement board president Erin Nowak read at last week’s board meeting. The statement follows an April 11 announcement to parents indicating a restructure of elementary-school placements in the district.

The restructure will take place at the onset of the 2025-26 academic year, and includes the elimination of fourth and fifth grade classes at Norton Elementary, the move of Great Start Readiness Program classes and Young 5’s to Norton, and Norton dropping to one classroom each of kindergarten to third grade.

Why is the district spending half a million on signage when enrollment is down and cuts are necessary?
    Everyone gets their info online.
Paying for lighted signs seems wasteful and redundant.

@concerned citizen That money is part of the bond project that was passed several years ago.
