Cass County arrested on drug charges

Two Cass County residents were arrested on drug-related offenses last week.

According to sheriff’s deputies, members of the Cass County Drug Enforcement Team joined forces with Michigan Department of Corrections to conduct an investigation into suspected drug activity.

At 5 p.m. Thursday, officials from the two agencies responded to a residence in the 300 block of Orchard Street in Dowagiac. While searching the residence, detectives located methamphetamine, meth paraphernalia and evidence of meth distribution.

Authorities arrested a 44-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman.

Law-enforcement officials said the man is charged with maintaining a drug house and possession of meth. Meanwhile, the woman was arrested for possession of meth.
