April’s unemployment rate in St. Joseph County decreased by half of a percent from March.
Figures from the monthly labor-market analysis by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget show St. Joseph County’s unemployment rate fell from 5.5 percent in March to 5 percent in April. The county’s April rate from a year earlier was 4.3 percent.
Meanwhile, Cass County experienced a drop in its unemployment from March to April. Its March rate was 5.7 percent and fell to 5 percent a month later.
In addition, Branch County also experienced a decrease in its monthly rate. It was 5 percent in March and dipped to 4.5 percent in April.
Michigan’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for April was 5.5 percent, no change from its rate in March.
