Former prosecutor’s pre-hearing conference postponed

Last week’s scheduled pre-hearing conference involving St. Joseph County Prosecutor Deb Davis was postponed again.

Davis was slated to take part Thursday in a virtual conference involving the Michigan Attorney Discipline Board and its legal representative, Austin Blessing-Nelson. The proceeding was originally scheduled for March 24.

The issue centers on Davis during her time as assistant prosecuting attorney. It is alleged by former county prosecutor David Marvin that Davis was not forthright during a hearing in January 2024 overseen by District Court Judge Jeff Middleton.

No reason was given for the adjournment and a new date has not yet been scheduled.
