Mary L. Cronkhite, age 93, of Burr Oak, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday evening, June 14, 2025, at her home.
She was born February 24, 1932, daughter of the late Leo and Elizabeth (Nussbaum) Currier.
Mary was a lifelong Burr Oak area resident and lived in the current family home since the spring of 1968.
She had been employed by the Kirsch Company in Sturgis for several years and seemed to always be babysitting children in her home. She had also worked in the cafeteria of Sturgis Hospital and was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker.
She attended Fairview Missionary Church in Angola, Indiana.
Mary enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, and loved caring for her family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years: Jerry; daughters: Penny (Ken) Wendricks of Waukegan, Illinios, Michelle Mount of Burr Oak and Jodie (Stephen) Miller of Three Rivers; son: Scott (Tina) Cronkhite of Burr Oak; 13 grandchildren: Tyler Miller, Kayleigh Miller, Chelsey (Tyler) Reid, Jerry (Alyson) Wendricks, Corrina (Macin) Magnus, Amanda (Tyler) Shepeck, James (Lu) Wendricks, Scottie (Hannah) Cronkhite, Marie (Jeremiah) Barnard, Alyssa (Morgan) Avila, Logan Mount, Landen Mount and Madi (Luke) Pappas; 18 great grandchildren; brother: Paul Currier of Sturgis; sister-in-law: Cooky Currier of Burr Oak and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Elvina Williamson and Catherine Brinkley and brothers: John Currier, Samuel Currier and William Currier.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, June 19th at the Burr Oak Missionary Church, 327 N. Third St. in Burr Oak where funeral services celebrating the life of Mary Cronkhite will take place at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 20th. A graveside committal will follow the service at Adams Cemetery.
