Michelle “Missie” Kosloski, 65

Michelle “Missie” Andre Kosloski, age 65, of Sturgis, passed away Friday afternoon, May 30, 2025, at The Laurels of Coldwater in Coldwater.

She was born December 12, 1959 in Sturgis, daughter of the late Jack and Sharon (Whitsel) Long.

Missie was a lifelong Sturgis resident.

She had been employed as a painter by Grumman Olson for several years, and also worked at Precision Speed, both in Sturgis.

Missie was a past member of Eagles Lodge #1314. She enjoyed Lake Michigan and the dunes, trips to different parks with her grandchildren and time outdoors appreciating nature. Missie was happiest when she was surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons: Jorie (Erin) Miller of Stryker, Ohio and Jack Todd “JT” (Stephanie) Nichols of Three Rivers; daughter: Darby Miller of Sturgis; grandchildren: Lily, Lana, Kayla, Kyla, Cora, Makilah and Jacob; brothers: Mitch (Brenda) Voorhees of Kansas, Michael (Becky) Long of California and Daron Long of Sturgis and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson: Hunter Jorie Miller and sister-in-law: Christine Long.

In honoring Missie’s wishes cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate and honor the life of Missie Kosloski will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Monday, June 9th at Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St. in Sturgis.

Missie had a true appreciation for veterans. Memorial donations would be appreciated to VFW Post #1355, 264 W. Fawn River Rd., Sturgis, MI 49091.
