Michigan Department of Health and Human Services office in St. Joseph County is closed to walk-in traffic due to lack of air conditioning.
Officials from the Centreville-based office said the lobby area is not open to the public until the situation is corrected, which is expected to occur by the end of the week.
The agency is attempting to find temporary office space to accommodate anyone who may have general questions about applications and benefits. Even with a temporary office space, however, EBT cards cannot be issued.
In-person services remain available at the Cass County office on M 62 in Cassopolis.
