Pamela Quirin, 79

Pamela E. Quirin, age 79, of Sturgis, passed away early Tuesday morning, June 17, 2025, at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis.

She was born on July 5, 1945 in Lansing, daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Whiting) McElmurry.

Pam resided in Sturgis for the past 63 years coming from Lansing.

On August 15, 1964, she married Rudolph C. “Butch” Quirin at the First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis.

Pam retired from Davis Mercantile in Shipshewana following 12 years of dedicated employment. She had also worked at Gateway Shopper’s Guide in Sturgis and Hudson’s Department Store in Battle Creek.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis and Sturgis Hospital Guild.

Pam enjoyed playing cards, arts and crafts, and home decorating. She loved fishing and was happiest when she was surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband of 60 years: Butch; son: Brad C. Quirin of Sturgis; daughter: Stacy (Dennis) Ashbrook of Marquette; grandchildren: Kayla Hoard, Sarah (Dustin) Miller, Hannah (Jim) Lyons and Christian Quirin; several great grandchildren; sisters: Pat (Tom) Reed of Atlanta, Georgia, Polly (Ken) Jackson of Zionsville, Indiana and Peggy (Bill) Davis of Destiny, Florida and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother: Robert McElmurry.

In honoring Pam’s wishes cremation has taken place and no services are planned.

The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
