Kalamazoo legal case assigned to St. Joseph County

A Kalamazoo woman has been charged with a number of offenses in a case being tried by St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office.

Prosecuting attorney Deb Davis said Tami Rayshawn Rey has been charged with two felony counts of assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer and two misdemeanor charges of domestic violence.

The alleged offenses occurred May 23 in Kalamazoo. The case was investigated by officers from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.

The case was assigned to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office due to a conflict of interest declared by the Kalamazoo County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Davis said.

The matter will be scheduled for proceedings in Kalamazoo County District Court.
