White Pigeon man killed in crash

Authorities said drugs and excessive speed appear to be factors in a crash involving a golf cart and pickup earlier this week in White Pigeon Township.

Michigan State Police troopers responded at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday to an area of Lake Road in response to a crash with injuries

The golf cart was heading west on Lake Road when it was rear-ended by the pickup.

The driver of the golf cart, a 61-year-old White Pigeon man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His two passengers suffered serious injuries and were treated at Bronson Methodist Hospital.

The pickup driver was identified as a 56-year-old man from Bronson. He was taken to Beacon Health Three Rivers Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, troopers said.

No names were released by police.
