Burr Oak and Sturgis Schools agree to business services contract

Business services for Burr Oak Community Schools will now be handled by a neighboring district.

Sturgis Public Schools officials recently agreed to a contract to handle the task for Burr Oak. The deal closely resembles an agreement Sturgis has had with Colon Community Schools for a number of years.

Sturgis Superintendent Art Ebert said as a result of the agreement, the district will likely need to hire an additional staff member to oversee the work conducted on behalf of Burr Oak, as well as any duties for Colon or Sturgis, as circumstances warrant.
