Emma Borkholder-Moore, age 81, of Centreville, died Monday, August 25, 2025 at Fairview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Centreville. She was born September 11, 1943 in Nappanee, IN, a daughter of Jacob J. and Lizzieann (Borkholder) Borkholder. Emma’s family moved to Michigan in 1947 and she attended Nottawa Stone School & Centreville Schools. On Sept. 13, 1981 she married Larry S. Moore in Reno, NV. He preceded her in death on Jan. 3, 2001, in Shelton, WA.
In 1970 Emma moved to the west coast, beginning in Los Angeles, then Walnut Creek and Seattle, and finally Shelton, WA, which was “home” for 36 years. In 2006 she returned to Centreville. Emma worked as a bookkeeper at Wheel Camper in Centreville and companies in California and Washington.
Surviving are her brother Daniel Borkholder, Ypsilanti; brothers-in-law Ivan Miller, Centreville and Andy Miller, Cisne, IL; special relative Levi Borkholder, Sturgis; step-daughter Cherie (Moore) Berglof; grandchildren Darci, Kyle, Sarah, Michael, Angella; great grandchildren Riley, Carley, Azaliyah, Ashlynn, Mya and Eli, all of WA; many nieces, nephews, and great and great great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings Martha Miller, Katie (Eddie) Miller, Lovina (John) Miller, Lizzie Mae (Steve Alery & Matt) Katalinich, Mary Miller, Annie (Omar) Miller; brother Lloyd (Viola) Borkholder; sister-in-law Colleen Borkholder; and special relative Esther Borkholder.
