Jerry Waldo, 58

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jerry Allen Waldo on August 7, 2025 at the age of 58.  After a long hard-fought battle, surrounded with the love of his family and friends, he has transitioned into the glorious, accepting, all knowing light of the lord God in heaven.

His life began August 1, 1962 in South Bend, one of three children and the only son born to Philip and Dorothy (Tharp) Waldo.  He grew up in the Cass County, attending Cass and Marcellus school systems, eventually graduating from Marcellus High School, where he played football and ran track.  He then attended Northwestern Business College in Lima, Ohio, graduating with an automotive technology degree.  After many years of working for Hayden Beardsley in Cassopolis, he became an employee of the Cass County Road Commission where he helped fixing and maintain their equipment.  Jerry made many friends while there whom he enjoyed spending time with.

Jerry loved and lived life to the fullest, always available for his family and friends, giving each one a special relationship that will never be forgotten.  He enjoyed watching sports, NASCAR, fishing, hunting, and fixing anything mechanical.  Jerry loved learning new things and solving problems.  Jerry was the family’s “Google” because he always came up with the answer.

Jerry will be greatly missed by family and friends.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara (Braime) Waldo; his parents, Philip and Dorothy Waldo; three sisters, Sandy (Waldo) Fuller and her husband Jason Fuller, Tina (Waldo) Wyman, Chris (Draime) and her husband Andy Workman; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and Denise Draime, Jeff and Renee Draime; his mother-in-law, Kathryn Morningstar; and a host of nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Richard “Dick” Draime and his brother-in-law, Roger Wyman.
