Shirley Ann Schrock, age 89, of Sturgis, passed away Sunday evening, August 10, 2025 at her home.
She was born October 29, 1935 in Three Rivers, a daughter to the late Robert and Arlene (Swinehart) Owen.
Shirley graduated from Three Rivers High School and has lived in Nottawa, andd Sturgis, where she has resided since 1970.
She was first married to Jerry L. Penn, he preceded her in death in 1999. In 2005 she married William “Bill” Schrock who preceded her in death in 2021.
Shirley had been employed by the Sturgis Eagles Lodge and the Sturgis Elks Lodge for many years, drove for the Amish for over 30 years, and was the caregiver for her mother-in-law: Nellie Penn.
She enjoyed bowling on a league, sewing clothes for her children, grandchildren, and their dolls, gardening, canning, and spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are one daughter: Tammy (James) Reppas of Sturgis; one son: Daniel Penn of Nottawa; grandchildren: Holly Anna Morgan, Douglas Penn, Teresa, Tammy, Jamie, Joetta, Candice, Anthony, Pete, Shirley, Lisa, Diana, Jennifer, Tia, Stefanie, Eric, Britnay, Michelle, Johnny, and Katelynn; Several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Sharon and Patricia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, 4 children: Jeffery Penn, LaVonne Marie Penn, Lonnie David Penn, and Jill Herschberger; 2 sisters: Bonnie and Charlotte; 1 brother: Bobby Owen; step mother: Lil Owen; mother-in-law: Nellie Penn; and a great-grandson: Jerry Justin Rial.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2025 at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, MI 49091.
A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Thursday, at Riverside Church, 207 E. Michigan Ave., Three Rivers. A potluck luncheon will follow.
Memorial donations may be directed to the Hackman Family Funeral Homes, P.O. Box 9, Sturgis, MI 49091 to help with expenses.
