United Way sets up family catastrophic fund for local family

St. Joseph County United Way has created a Family Catastrophic Fund in support of the family of a Three Rivers woman.

Agency officials said the fund, managed by the Three Rivers High School cross-country team, will assist the children of Beatrice Jones-Taylor. The 36-year-old Three Rivers woman died last week when the vehicle she was driving was struck by a semi at the intersection of M-66 and M-60 in Mendon Township.

Organizers said 100 percent of all funds will benefit Jones-Taylor’s teenage children, Dontrel and Breajena.

More information is available on the United Way’s website: sjcuf.com.
